I pray this message finds you well. I hope that you have had plenty of time to work on your trees, build your collection, and perhaps you have also used this time to dig into and invest a little more in your knowledge of Bonsai in these crazy times.
Covid continues to pose a few challenges for society and, as such, has put a few roadblocks in our way as a club. The board has held a few meetings and discussions to plan as best as possible moving forward to provide safe and meaningful meetings, including venues, “socially distanced” meeting scenarios, virtual meeting platforms, study groups, demos, and more. Meeting in our traditional location could prove to be difficult with the guidelines being imposed on the facility as a government related entity and we are still working closely with them to be able to hold as many meetings as possible there.
To that end, if you are willing and able to host a “socially distanced” meeting at your home, please let one of the board members know. As of right now, we do have members that have volunteered their place including Agresta Gardens, Alfonso’s Tree Farm, Adam’s Art and Bonsai Nursery, and my home to name a few. If you are willing, please let a board member know ASAP.
We will be hosting an August study group entitled “Super Tropicals” presented by Adam Lavigne on August 22nd, at 10:00am. As a test run for virtual platforms you may attend this study group through Facebook Live, on the CFBC page, or through Zoom: Meeting ID: 581 785 0451
This is free and open to anyone, anywhere in the world. Please feel free to use this as a recruiting opportunity for our club! Let’s share the love of Bonsai with as many people in our sphere of influence as we can.
Stay safe, and I’m very much looking forward to getting together very soon with the club!
