Today I decide that it was time to work on some trees. I started with the silver thorn (Elaeagnus sp.) I acquired it from a 3 gallon pot. I styled it as a bunjin but like many of my trees I left too many branches on it. When I began it looked like this:
After care deliberation I decide to remove the lowest left branch, one branch going towards the front, one going toward the right, and two in the back. I didn’t jin the ones I removed in the back but I did jin the others. The result is below:

Even though I removed 5 branches it still looks busy but I think I’ll wait and bring it to a workshop before I remove any more.
Also, did you notice I weeded the pot? Less is more!
